Kings & Queens

Someone else had a birthday this week.

So at Storytime, we read three stories with kings and queens in them - one king who built a machine, one who was the queen of her neighborhood, and a one who was king of the jungle.
Then we made crowns, because everybody deserves to have one at some time or another. It was later told that one of us wore the crown all day long, and insisted on wearing it to bed. It was not me, but if I'd had the presence of mind to make one, I probably would have done the same thing.

The Best Things About School-Vacation Storytimes

School-vacation Storytimes are often theme-less, and we read old and new favorites.
There are so many different levels of ability and creativity as "older" patrons work with "younger" ones. See this simple paper hand puppet? Everybody folded one and started with the same "base" puppet - but the differences in product came from age, ability, experience, personal preference.
Sometimes others read their favorite books - and I get to watch the listeners!
And we always have lots of fun at School Vacation Storytimes!
