Our first Summer Reading Program event, a family hike of the New Hampton Nature/Fitness Trail, had to be postponed a week due to the threat of bad weather. So we met at the library and had our Game Night, scheduled for the following week.
The night was planned and run by Robert, who began by reading Goal! by Mina Javaherbin. This sports-themed book was set in a village in South Africa - where soccer is called football!
Next, kids made marshmallow shooters from cups and balloons and had a launching contest. Those marshmallows flew all over the room!
Last came Uno, card games, and cooperative games like Jenga. The night ended with prizes for everyone!
