Feeling Sick :-(

A-choo! Have a cold? Got the sniffles? Winter is a time when lots of us don't feel well or get sick. Today we read about this. Mrs. Bear notices one evening that Sam is sick in Don't You Feel Well Sam? by Amy Hest. In Llama, Llama, Home With Mama by Anna Dewdney, Llama is home sick and bored until he finds a way to help his Mama. When Amos McGee can't get out of bed because he's sick, his friends from work find a way to help in A Sick Day for Amos McGee by Philip Stead. We found lots of similarities in these books: tissues and handkerchiefs, tea and lemon, and medicines -which should only be given to children by their parents!

For our craft, a paper plate face with yarn hair, a pompom nose, and a tissue - to catch the germs from a sneeze!
