Today's Storytime featured stories about mice at Christmastime! We read Laura Numeroff's If You Take A Mouse to the Movies, a funny story about a mouse who starts the events of the book just by asking for popcorn. The Gingerbread Mouse by Katy Bratun told the story of a mouse who lived in a few different kinds of houses before finding the perfect home. Together at Christmas by Eileen Spinelli was a tender story about ten little mice friends on Christmas Eve. And we read my favorite, The Tale of the Christmas Mouse by Judith Fringuello, a rhyming book about a mouse who prepares each year for a special Christmas Eve visitor!
Then we crafted our own Christmas mice, with heart shaped faces and triangle hats. The white hats were colored on both sides so that the tip could be left up or turned down. A sparkly band and a cotton pompom completed the hat. What cute little Christmas mice!
